Homework

To access a homework assignment:

• Go to https://colab.research.google.com/
• Sign in using your MHC email account
• Click the “GitHub” tab in the orange bar
• A pop-up window will open. Enter your GitHub user name and password.
• If requested, agree to let Google and colab access your GitHub account
• Back in colab, select the “Include private repos” check box in the top right corner of the dialog box
• In the drop-down menu under “Repository” on the left side, find “mhc-stat344ne-s2020/_____”, filling in the blank with the assignment you want to work on.
• Below that, a list of any notebook files (ending in .ipynb) in that repository will show up. Click the picture of a square with an arrow coming out of it to the right of the file you want to open.

Any time you’ve done some work you want to save:

• Go to the File menu in colab and select “Save a copy in GitHub…”
• Change the text under “Commit message” to a brief description of the work you’ve done.
• Click “OK”. It will pop up a new window showing your work on GitHub. You can safely close that and return to your other tab to continue working.
